Thomond Park is a stadium located in Limerick in the province of Munster. The Clarion Hotel Limerick has for many years been the Munster teams choosen hotel when playing a match in Limerick with all the team staying at the hotel.

As rugby fever gripped Limerick last weekend for Munsters first home game of the Heiniken Cup 09/10 season, the four star Clarion Hotel Limerick was preparing to welcome back the magnificent Munster team. Renowned for its outstanding hospitality and undeniable rugby spirit, the hotel is a hive of activity with supporters and well wishers once Munster touch down. The Clarion Hotel Steamboat Quay is proud to be the home from home for the players and management of the Munster team since the hotels opening in 2002. The atmosphere in Sinergie Restaurant and Kudos Bar at the Clarion was electric following the fantastic win by Munster on Saturday.
Across the river the Clarion Hotel Suites welcomed the opposing team Benetton Treviso. Once again in the spirit of Rugby the Clarion extended a ‘Cead Mile Failte’ to the Italian team and all their supporters.
Not to leave the rucking and mauling to the men of Munster, another team staying with the Clarion were the Ulster Women’s Rugby Team who took on the women of the Munster Rugby in this years Interprovincial Championship in Thomond Park. Once again Munster took home a victory over Ulster in this historical match.
Munster Rugby are the main tenants of the stadium though it is also home to Shannon RFC and UL Bohemian RFC. The capacity of the stadium is 26,500 following its large scale redevelopment in 2008. The stadium holds a special place in rugby due to its own unique history and atmosphere. The Stadium is famed for its noise during play and the complete silence while home and away players are kicking for goal. Munster also retained an intimidating 12 year unbeaten run at Thomond in the Heineken Cup - running from the competition's start in 1995 until 2007 when the Leicester Tigers broke the streak with a 13-6 win. It is at Thomond park that Munster celebrated their 12-0 victory over the All Blacks in 1978. Munster won the Magners League in Thomon Park in 2009.
