Sample Active Retirement Group Itinerary

The Clarion hotel Limerick is the perfect place to enjoy an Active Retirement Break.  We pride ourselves on being renowned for our excellent 4 Star Service and friendly staff and delight in offering you a truly memorable break.  For your active retired offer we are delighted to work with you to create a schedule of activities suited to the preferences of your group with the hotel receiving discounts at many activities.  We can organise daily entertainment including music, dancing, bingo, walking tours, King Johns Castle tours, Cliffs of Moher tour, wine tasting, fitness classes, bus hire or a medieval banquet at Bunratty Castle to name just a few!  Below is a sample itinerary for a recent group who stayed at the hotel.

Day 1

3.30pm Clarion Hotel Limerick tea/coffee, homemade scones and preserves on arrival complimentary
6.30pm Dinner in the waterfront Sinergie Restaurant (different menus each night)

Day 2

Bunratty Castle & Folk park tour.  Open 9.30am – 5.30pm.  (Supplement will apply.)
Dinner in Sinergie Restaurant (different menus each night)

Day 3

Cliffs of Moher & the Burren day trip.  Cliffs of Moher tour payable directly at the cliffs.  (Supplement will apply.)
Dinner in Sinergie Restaurant (different menus each night)

Day 4

Free day, here are some suggestions: 

The Hunt Museum (5 mins walk from hotel)
Exhibiting one of Ireland's greatest private collections of art and antiquities, dating from the Neolithic to the 20th Century, including works by Renoir, Picasso and Yeats.

King Johns Castle (5 mins walk from hotel)
King John’s Castle is a 13th century castle on ‘King’s Island’ in the heart of medieval Limerick City.  The Castle overlooks the majestic River Shannon offering wonderful views of Limerick City.

Adare Village (15 mins drive from hotel) - Visit Irelands pretties village and stop at one of its lovely thatched restaurants for lunch

Killaloe (30 minute drive from hotel) - Killaloe is made up of charming narrow streets, flanked by old shops looking down over the 13th century cathedral.
Killaloe is brimming with activity from water to land with the spirit of the lakes cruise being popular.

“Cleanliness very good”
Have stayed many times and find atmosphere and cleanliness very good. Friendly staff also

“The view was super”
My husband is from Limerick and he has always wanted to stay in that hotel as he is a fisherman and loves the river Shannon, the view was super.

All staff we found to be really nice and helpful and friendly. Couldn’t fault anyone. William was friendly also to us while having bar food and drinks.

No sure of the staff members name but he was on check in on Saturday evening. He was great with the local knowledge and he was so helpful he was a pleasure to meet. He really made a difference to our stay.

The lady at the check in desk when we arrived was exceptionally pleasant and very helpful, her name was Lenka. She informed us of all the facilities in the hotel… I have been to a number of hotels over
the years but I have to say this is the first time I have actually remembered a member of staff's name.
